The one thing I REALLY wanted to do in Savannah was to eat at Paula Deen’s Restaurant Lady and Sons. So this was my Valentine’s Day gift from my hubby it was a few days late, but I hate going out on the actually holiday anyway because of the crowds.

We had some friends check out another Paula Deen restaurant in Foley Alabama. Head over and see their Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen review and follow their adventures too.

So we got in, we made a reservation, and while it’s not needed I suggest it because we got right in!

There are pictures of her and her family on the menu but also all around the restaurant. I love this it shows how important family is to her!

The kids menu was basic which was perfect I find the more choices my children have, the harder it is for us to get them to pick something.

Hubby and I decided that we couldn’t pick just one thing and did the buffet, which also came with a dessert. Out meals and the kids, meals came with a plate of bread, which included a corn cake and garlic butter rolls.

My ice tea was even fancy! We got the chance to chat a bit with our waiter and learned that Paula is in at least once a month and one fo her sons is in each week. We also learned that Paula trained each and every cook in her kitchen herself, I wouldn’t expect anything less!

The design was very clean and homey for the restaurant.

My first plate. Mac and cheese for baby girl, of course, the famous fried chicken, sweet potatoes, roasted potatoes and hoecake. One word sums this plate up YUM!

Everything was very good. So much so I headed up for a 2nd plate mostly because I didn’t get a bite of Mac n Cheese because baby girl ate all of mine! Also on the buffet were ribs, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, collard greens and a salad bar. Then I got peach cobbler for my dessert.

Let me tell you I can’t tell you the last time I was that full! We walked her shop next door, and you will never believe what we found…..

Yes, butter flavored chapstick……

I have to take a proud momma moment here. When we were getting up to leave the couple we had been chatting with at the table next to us told us, our kids had been really good and gave them each $1 for ice cream the next day. I was blown away, we have gotten compliments before, but she actually made me tear up! Sometimes you just need that to tell you that you are on the right track.
