15 Free Things to do in El Paso Texas

You already know one of our first stops in El Paso, Texas is Franklin Mountains, State Park.  Once you are here, you can participate in many things for free. Some of those activities include hiking, biking, rock climbing, or even tent camping (a small fee). You can also try your hand at bird watching and take a nature hike. Take a day drive down Scenic Drive on Sunday mornings.

El Paso Museum of History is a great place to check out for free. Because we homeschool, I really love getting to visit this museum and see all the history it offers.

The El Paso Municipal Rose Garden is a great free place to enjoy flowers in El Paso. I love flowers, these are super pretty too.

Ascarate Park is an awesome County Park to visit You can swim, fish, and even boat. There is a small fee for parking.

White Spur Park is a great example of the awesome parks in the El Paso area.

Nations Tobin Park is another one of the many parks located in El Paso, Texas. If you’re going to visit El Paso, make sure you visit this park.

El Paso Museum of Art is such a fun place to visit with the family for free. I feel like art is an important thing for kids to get exposed to.

El Paso Holocaust Museum is a place to visit with the family when you’re ready to discuss this world history event with them. It’s such an important part of the world’s history that we will be visiting the next time I go with the family to El Paso.

International Museum of Art in El Paso has free admission. I just don’t think you can get enough of art museums, we love them. I’m so thankful they’re free a lot of the times. My kids are used to art museums too, which makes visiting them that much more fun.

Magoffin Home State Historic Site is a place to check out to explore some history of El Paso. It’s truly an amazing site. I like to take the kids here for exploring because there is so much rich history here. Its a great stop on the free things to do in El Paso tour.

Chamizal National Memorial is a marker used to be right on Mexico and American border but when the US extended it borders a bit further south in 1964 it became fully part of the US.

US Customs and Border Protection facility.

National Border Patrol Museum is located just outside the downtown area of El Paso this museum opened in 1985 and cover the history of the border patrol.

World’s Largest Man-Made Illuminated Star – This is should be seen at night and is a sight to see for sure!

1919 Vintage Gas Station has a lot of great history in this fully restored building. Make sure to grab the Roadside America App on the App Store for all the info!

Grave of John Wesley Harden is known as the No. 1 wild west killer you can now visit his grave located in Concordia Cemetery.
