Things to Do in Savannah GA - Best Places to Chill Out

Historic Squares of Savannah

There are 22 squares, or mini-parks located throughout historic downtown Savannah. Most of them are named to honor a person or event. If you are a movie buff, head to Chippewa Square and sit on the bench and maybe you will feel the movie magic from Forest Gump during his famous bench scenes. The peacefulness found in the parks helps to let your stress melt away one blooming flower at a time.

Eat ALL the Tutti Frutti Ice Cream

Who knew that the Tutti Frutti ice cream flavor was created in Savannah in a little ice cream parlor called Leopolds back in 1919? Tutti Frutti tastes like a better version of a frozen fruit cake. For all my craft beer lovers out there, try the Guinness Ice Cream float. Trust me on this.

Take a Stroll and Chill Out

Head over to Jones Street and see why Southern Living magazine voted it one of the most beautiful streets in North America. It is old world charm with brick-lined streets and large trees that line the streets. Perfect place to walk off all the culinary delights you find throughout Savannah and relax one step at a time.

Don’t forget to check out the live oak trees on the way to Wormsloe and see the Spanish moss hanging down. This is one of Savannah’s most prized picture taking spots. There is just something romantic about the Spanish moss hanging effortlessly from the large oak trees.

Sip an Adult Cocktail

Savannah allows 16-ounce cocktails on the streets. What better way to chill out in Savannah than with an adult beverage as you take in all the trendy boutiques on Broughton Street. Hop from one outdoor patio to the next to see what the bartender’s are blending up.
