Its a fun thing to do with young children, especially if you do a quick tour of the gardens but don't plan on spending a lot of time at either. Kids just get too bored.

Kids are blown away by the way the car rolls uphill on its own. You sit in your car, so you can do this in rain or shine, hot or cold. Its free which helps too.

While visiting Bok Tower Gardens, I decided to check this out. If you are in the area, check it out, but don't make a special trip just for it.

I realize this is an illusion, however all that happened was that I rolled backwards. To me, no illusion if going up hill.

On the positive side it's free to see. If you go, there is a school right there siblings be careful on what time you visit

Optical illusion at a minimum. I would not go out of your way to experience this. But it is a free attraction and does have a board explaining why it exists.
Don't recommend going around 3pm as the school is letting out and there is no way to get through without waiting in the parent pick up line.

We are new to Florida and have heard many locals talk about Spook Hill as a fun place to go. We figured that before the 24/7 lockdown, we would take a ride over from the Southwest Orange County area. GPS said it was 1 hour and 5 min, and that was about right. When we arrived, we were directed into a neighborhood of hills. There were no signs, no cute sign about the Legend of Spook Hill, no white line, nothing to indicate we were in the correct place. It seemed a lot of people were outside and watching us driving around. We felt very uncomfortable and left. Perhaps it is no longer there, people got upset with all the traffic, and took the signs down???

It was a great experience. First recommendation is to set your expectations realistically.
There is a white line and when you place your car there it supposed to go back uphill.
For us we placed our truck way behind the white line. At the white line there is a 1 percent incline, so no magic there.
But if you stop about 3 foot before the line the street is completely level and the car or truck your in should not move when in neutral.
It does roll back. Very interesting, but only if you place your expectations low.

We drive 1 hour from Orlando to visit this attraction. When we got there there was a sign explaining what to do.
When looking at the hill from the white line and further back it looks like your looking up the the hill.
The sign mentions to drive up to the line and put your car in neutral. And see you car go backwards….what else would you car do when facing a hill. Yes we rolled backwards. I was expecting it to be an optical illusion and we would roll forward.
Was of time and gas getting there.

We recommend this place get removed from advertising as its fake.

I have been wanting to see the Mysterious Spook Hill for over 30 years. I had heard so much about and read about it the the AAA Tour Books. Finally I went. Highly disappointing. The most impressive things were the posted sign and the sign over the road. We tried several time and we never rolled up hill in no way. Since it is on a sloop we did go backwards.

Hrmmmmmmm so not really sure we were spooked. I would say bored is probably the right term. Drive to the line, put it in reverse and you roll back down the hill? No way. Lol. Physics at it’s best. That’s about it. Look at the pics and save yourself the boredom.

2 stars because when we pulled up, some branches fell on our truck and it added an eerie effect..
But the actual experience was completely lack luster.
I've wanted to go here for as long as I can remember, and well.. it was anticlimactic at it's best.
I wouldn't recommend a special trip for this.

Literally all your car is roll backwards down the hill, lmao

OK, so we were visiting Bok Tower and decided to try Spook Hill. We tried it twice but none of us felt anything or even understood what was supposed to happen. That's OK though, it was fun trying.
