There are so many things to do in Las Vegas Nevada you could spend a month there and never see them all! This list of free things to do in Las Vegas isn’t any different. Not all the options are kid-friendly (as they take part in a casino or a bar) and a few of them you can actually EARN money with. Sign me up!

Let’s dive right into it from the largest gold nugget to making some money you don’t have to spend a ton of money to have fun in Vegas!

 

Bellagio Hotel Conservatory

LAS VEGAS – June 15: Summer season in Bellagio Hotel Conservatory & Botanical Gardens on June 15, 2014, in Las Vegas. There are five seasonal themes that the Conservatory undergoes each year.

The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens Located directly off the front desk in the Bellagio, these gardens are most popular during Christmas when they get all decorated up but they do different themes throughout the year as well. I’ve seen treehouses, mermaids, under the sea and more.

Fall of Atlantis at Caesars Palace Forum Shops – These statues come to live several times a day and provide a free show!

Flamingo Wildlife Habitat – This secret little different trails e greenery in the middle of the strip is a fun stop!

Children’s Park and Playground in the Town Square Shopping Mall – The mall has several children’s play areas in the shade, in trees and even with fountains to cool off with.

Bonnie & Clyde’s Death Car Exhibit at a Primm Valley Resort – Just outside Las Vegas this is one exhibit that is so worth the drive!

Walk the Grand Canal Shops at the Venetian – Known for their indoor canal gondola rides (that cost money) those rides are in the middle of their indoor mall. You can walk the mall watch the sky change, take in the canal and the shops for free.

The Park – Located between The New York, New York and the Monte Carlo there are some great art statues, oh and free wifi!

Take in the Circus-Circus Stunts – The worlds largest permanent circus has all kinds of shows and rides. While it costs nothing to walk around the rides can cost a pretty penny. Every half hour or so you can watch a death-defying stunt take place in the park.

The Miracle Mile Shops Fountain – Located in Planet Hollywood and in the heart of the miracle mile shops is this dramatic fountain and light show.

Ponte Vecchio Bridge at Lake Las Vegas – A replica of the Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Italy offers great views of Lake Las Vegas.

Freemont Street – Known for their covered street and overhead light show. Also more recently for being able to zip line down the street. You can walk the street and take in the light show and some street performers for free.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory Tour and Free Sample – Take a self-guided tour and watch the chocolate being made and even score a free sample. They also have a cactus garden to walk through.

M&Ms World 3D Movies – located right on the strip head to M&M’s world and take in the store and free 3D movies!

100 Murals – To celebrate Vegas’s 100-year history the city had 100 murals painted around town. See how many you can find while enjoying all the free things to do in las vegas!

Venetian Streetmosphere – Here you can catch some amazing free live performances. They also do weddings here and catching a glimpse of one is an amazing sight!

Calico Basin – The lesser known area of the Red Rock National Conservation Area there is a boardwalk to make hiking easy and picnic tables. There are small springs in the area and lots of rock formations.

Hershey’s Chocolate World – Located in the New York- New York hotel is Hershey’s Chocolate World Las Vegas branch. Free to walk around and take in and even run into some famous chocolate characters.

The Works of Art Located at the CityCenter Campus – Let’s talk art! There are 15 works of art to take in from 3 different artists around campus.

Tour The Banger Brewery – Free guided tour of the brewery. Make sure to book your tour as spots fill quickly.

P3Studio at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas – Feature many local and international artists. Always changing pieces.

Mirage Volcano – Two to three times a day the volcano in front of the Mirage erupts into flames. It’s a great light show from the street!

Gold and Silver Pawn Shop – Ever see the show Pawn Stars? Hubby and I love it! You can visit the shop and see some of their pawns and even some items from the show! If you are lucky some of the show stars will even be there.

Pawn Plaza – Another must for Pawn Star fans! Rick Harrison opened this up made of shipping containers it is now a retail space with some great food too!

Barrick Museum & Las Vegas Art Museum on UNLV Campus The The Marjorie Barrick Museum and The Las Vegas Art Museum partnered together to bring you multiple art galleries to take in.

Water Show at Bellagio

The Bellagio Fountains – One of the most famous water shows in the world. Choreographed to music and even lights! Get there early as the crowd really builds up. This is a do-not-miss stop on our list of free things to do in las vegas.

Swarovski Starburst – This is a 14-foot LED-lit crystal starburst that lights up the shops at night.

The Polaroid Fotobar – This is a museum dedicated to photographs and photography.

McCarran Aviation Museum – If you are flying in or out of McCarran take in some of the exhibits in the airport. The Museum’s main exhibits are located above baggage claim with additional exhibits in ticketing at gates A-D, as well as other terminals.

September 11 Tribute – When visiting the New York-New York Hotel and Casino at the base of the Statue of Liberty there is a tribute to the 9/11 victims and survivors.

Shards of Color – More art, this one located in Crystals, CityCenter’s high-end mall, this is four recessed geometric shapes lit in neon.

Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas – More art! Many say the cosmopolitan hold some of the best free art in the city!

Hoover Dam Hot Springs – If you are a more advanced hiker you can hike around Hoover Dam or some of the hot springs. These hikes are open in the middle of summer.

Dueling Pianos – In Neopolitains dueling piano bar you can take part in the dueling pianos and help vote for who plays best!

Visit the Worlds Largest Golden Nugget – The Golden Nugget hotel and casino didn’t just pick a random name. It bought the worlds largest golden nugget (found in Australia in 1980) for over a million dollars and you can see it on display in their lobby. This is a 61-pound gold nugget named “Hand of Faith”

Downtown Container Park – There are retail stores, places to eat, and even a play park. Plus a great list of free events.

Flame Throwing Praying Matis – While visiting the container shops make sure to check this guy to too!

Choo Choo Tunnel Hikes at Hoover Dam – These tunnels were made to make transporting materials to the Hoover Dam easier. Now to can view them and get a good hike in.

The Grand Bazaar Shops – An open-air market that brings in local and international sights and smells.

Test America Preview Studio – The studio is in suite H-82 in the Dessert Passage Mall. You can test new products and give your honest opinion and in return, you will get coupons and sometimes even earn money!

Bellagio’s Cirque du Soleil Art Gallery – Packed with 50+ bronze statues to view there is also original works of art here too.

50,000 Gallon Caesars Palace Aquarium – This saltwater aquarium has a Roman theme.

The Waterfall at the Palazzo – There is a huge 2-floor waterfall with seasonal flowers at the Palazzo you don’t want to miss either!

Big Elvis a Harrah’s Piano Bar – In the town of Elvis impersonators this one is still the best and still free!

Flair Bartending – Many of the bars up and down the strip have taken on flair bartending where the bartenders put on a show while making their drinks. It’s worth checking out at least once while visiting!

Walk the Strip – There is so much to see and so many amazing backdrops for pictures on the strip. Take some time and take a stroll

Aquarium at the Silverton – There is a huge 117,000-gallon aquarium filled with hundreds of tropical fish, stingrays, and the occasional live mermaid!

Be a TV Critic for CBS TV – Ever wanted to give your input on TV shows? Grab free tickets to the CBS screen rooms inside the MGM hotel and watch TV pilots and give your opinions on if they should make it to prime time TV!

Coral Reef Aquarium at The Mirage – This is a 20,000-gallon aquarium stocked with many fish and three different kinds of sharks.

Famous Hoover Dam at Lake Mead, Nevada and Arizona Border, United States.

Drive Over Hoover Dam – While in the area you have to take a drive over the Hoover Dam!

Sunset Stampede at Sam’s Town – Head off the strip to the Sam’s Town hotel and walk through the Mystic Falls Park. This is their enchanted atrium that comes to life! Make sure to take in the laser show each day too!

Pin Ball Hall of Fame – The admission is free to check out the amazing pinball machine, that you can still play for between 25¢ to $1 a play. But it’s free to check out the largest collection of pinball machines in the world.

The Ceiling at the Venitian – Between the registration lobby and casino, the arched ceiling in the Venetian was hand painted and reminiscent of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican. A true sight to see and a great options for free things to do in las vegas.

Hike Red Rock Canyon – There are over 19 different trails you can take in with some amazing views!

Mandalay Bay Beach – You can take in the man-made beach with its 2700 tons of sand and 1.6 million gallons of water.

Wynn Lake Show – Check out the show at the Wynn’s lake with lights, holographic, and more on their 40-foot waterfall!

Visit Anderson Dairy – Tour a historic dairy just outside the city limits the dairy offers a free interactive guided tour.

New York-New York Hotel and Casino

‘Walk New York City’ at the New York-NewYork – You can walk the city area for free and there are lots of picture opportunities, including the statue of liberty. They do have a roller coaster that you can ride through the city for $15 if you choose.

Take a Picture with a Million Bucks – Head down to Binions and take a photo with a million dollars. This is a must see photo opp!

Hoover Dam By-Pass Bridge – Alos know as The Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge you can get some photo-worthy views of the Hoover Dam here!

Acacia Demonstration Gardens –  Located just outside Las Vegas these gardens proof that there is such a thing as water-conserving landscaping.

Landmark Paris Hotel Vegas

‘Walk Through Paris’ – Take in the city of lights, the Effiel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, with decor reminiscent of the Paris Opera and the Louvre. All free to walk through. You can claim to the top of the Effiel Tower for about $16.

Rock and Roll Wine Tastings – Free wine tasting around the city. Locations change weekly so make sure to check the website!

The First Friday in the Arts District – The First Friday of every month there is a big block party with music, performing arts, street vendors and more.

Las Vegas Farmers Market – I love walking the farmer’s markets and talking to vendors. You learn so much about the city, things to see and do and more.

Hard Rock Las Vegas – While this is a casino, bar, and restaurant the walls are all museum with memorabilia you won’t want to miss.

Bass Pro Shops at the Silverton Hotel and Casino – They have several huge exhibits to take in along with animals and a waterfall. They also do several seminars for free during the month.

Historic Las Vegas Post Office and Court House – History buffs will love this history you can take in at this original post office. This is now a museum dedicated to organized crime and law enforcement and the history of the mob! While there is admission to get into the museum taking in the outside and the steps (for Instagram of course) is worth the stop!

Watch a Hot Hand – When walking the casino floors listen for the cheering of winning hands. You will notice crowds of on looking watching someone winning streak. There is a thrill of watching them win or lose it all!

The Luxor’s Sky Beam – Thr strongest list beam in the world and pretty hard to miss!

Lawn Games at Gold Spike – This is an awesome hangout for the locals where you can play giant lawn games.

Tree House & Play Zone at the Container Park – An amazing play area for kids I’m kinda jealous that it is only for 10 and under!

Neon Museum Urban Gallery – This section of the Neon Museum is free for everyone to take in.

Gaming Lessons – Many of the major casinos offer free gaming lesson in their casinos daily. They want you to learn to play so you spend at their casinos!
